A Helpful Guide to Staying in our Pet and Dog Friendly Hotel in Manchester

As cheesy as it sounds, dog really is man’s best friend. With the amount of love we all have for our four-legged friends, it’s only natural to want to spend as much time as possible with them.

But what happens if you need to travel?

Having to leave a pet every time you go away for a weekend can come with a whole load of stress, not to mention the added costs of finding a suitable pet-sitter. If you’re planning a trip in or out of Manchester, and are at a loss with what to do with your furry friend, you’re in luck.

Our aparthotel welcomes cats, dogs and other beloved household pets so the whole family can enjoy a well-earned break together.

Just because you’re staying with your pet, it doesn’t mean you can’t see all the best parts of the city. If you’ve decided to take advantage of our pet-friendliness, read on in our guide to see some awesome spots that you should be checking out with your animal companion.

All Dogs Allowed: Our Pet Friendly Apartments in Manchester

Pet friendly accommodation has moved beyond just being able to stay alongside your animal companion. The best pet and dog friendly hotel allows guests to experience the same level of luxury, service and relaxation without having to leave the dog at home.

This is exactly why we’re pet friendly!

Things to do: Pet Friendly Attractions Near our Pet Friendly Hotel

Walking Spots

If you’ve come to Manchester with a canine companion, there are some beautiful areas around us that make for great dog-walking spots.

Piccadilly Square

This small but picturesque patch of green sits in between the edge of the Northern Quarter and Market Street. Surrounded by a selection of grade I buildings, it’s a nice spot for you and your dog to come for a quick morning walk.

New Islington Marina

Fancy a waterside walk? Check out this beautiful piece of tranquility. Just 5 minutes north of Manchester’s Northern Quarter and 8 minutes from our pet friendly hotel, the marina is a secluded oasis away from the noise of the city. With grassy parkland in the Cotton Field and stone seats lining the edge of the walkways, New Islington Marina is a great place to relax with your dog on a sunny day.

After enjoying a leisurely stroll, why not settle in for some food. There are some great brunch spots nearby and, of course, they’re all pet friendly.

Ezra & Gil

A self-confessed wholesome neighbourhood hangout, this restaurant and cafe offers up a mean all-day-brunch menu. If the water bowl gracing its front steps isn’t a clue enough, rest assured Ezra & Gil will welcome you and your dog with open arms.

Yard and Coop

Sitting on Edge Street, just 11 minutes from our pet friendly apartments, is Yard and Coop. -This fried chicken joint serves buttermilk fried chicken in every way imaginable, and will have you (and your dog) wanting to come back again and again.

Need a coffee? No problem. There are pet friendly coffee shops all over the area, but here are some of our favourites.

Koffee Pot

In its newer premises on Oldham Street, this cafe has ample space to let in customers of the canine persuasion. Serving up comforting fry-ups, coffees, cakes and snacks, alongside a lively atmosphere, you’ll find they even let the best behaved pups sit up in the booths.

Federal Cafe

An indie coffee shop on Nicholas Croft, Federal Cafe has everything you need to spend the day relaxing with your dog. Offering coffees, brunch and cakes, the cafe even has extended opening hours and provides cocktails in the evening – making it the perfect day to night hot spot.

North Tea Power

Want a great cup of northern tea? You’re in for a treat. North Tea Power, as the name suggests, offers up some amazing loose leaf teas alongside its full menu of coffees, soups, sandwiches and sweet treats. On Tib Street, this classic cafe is only a 10 minute walk from our dog friendly hotel and is perfect for an afternoon snack.

Shops and Activities

If you’re looking for ways to pass the time, then you won’t be short of options. You’ll find more than a few pet friendly  attractions nearby, including:

Piccadilly Records

The Northern Quarter was made for music lovers. With a rich musical history, this part of Manchester is filled with legendary music spots. Having prospered through the punk-fuelled 80s, Piccadilly Records has built a reputation as one of the best indie record shops in the world. Offering up an album for every genre, why not swing by and browse the selection without having to worry about leaving your dog outside.

Dog Bowl

A dog friendly bowling alley? Say no more. Manchester boasts not just one, but two of these. Our personal favourite is Dog Bowl, and not just because of the name. A handy 20 minute walk from our pet friendly apartments, this bowling alley offers up all the classic treats – beer, burgers and bowling – the only difference is your favourite little companion can come along too!

It’s almost impossible to visit The Northern Quarter without hearing about its buzzing nightlife. If you want to check out the city after dark, you don’t always have to leave your pet behind.

Terrace NQ

This quirky Thomas Street establishment is complete with exposed brick and mismatched furniture to give it a quaint and cosy vibe. Serving up an ever changing selection of cask ales, beers and spirits, why not grab a drink and enjoy it out on the sun terrace. The best part is, Terrace NQ’s doors are always open to dogs, no matter the time of the day or the day of the week.

Named as an homage to Manchester’s industrial history, Cottonopolis sits tucked away on Newton Street. A japanese inspired restaurant and bar, it’s also one of the most highly rated spots in the city. With a modern industrial vibe, the venue itself is a beautiful spot to come and relax in the evening with all of your friends. Not to mention the food is insanely good too.

Day and Night Cafe

A Northern Quarter music venue renowned for hosting big name artists before they were famous, did you know Day and Night Cafe was also dog friendly? Originally a chip shop, this famous venue now hosts some of the best up and comers alongside established artists from every corner of the globe. So, if you think your dog can sit through the noisy exhilaration of a live gig, this is definitely worth checking out.
